Taiwan government scholarships
The following scholarships are offered by Taiwan government agencies.
Applications are submitted through Taiwan's representative office (TECO/AIT) in your country. Typical deadline: March 31 each year.

Tuition & fees

Why study an MBA in Taiwan for AI industry access?
Taiwan is the world's leading producer of semiconductors and a critical node in the global AI supply chain, home to TSMC, MediaTek, and major NVIDIA manufacturing partners. Taichung, where Tunghai University is located, is a hub for AI-integrated manufacturing. What is the tuition, and what scholarships are available?
Tuition is ~NT$69,020/semester (~USD 4,250/year) — significantly lower than comparable programs in Singapore or Hong Kong. What visa and ARC do I need?
Apply for a Resident Visa (type FS) at a ROC representative office before arrival — do not enter on a landing visa, as it cannot be converted to an ARC. After arrival, OIR collectively assists new students to obtain the ARC (renewed annually; renew at least 3 months before expiry). → OIR ARC Guide
What health insurance do I have?
All international students are automatically enrolled in Group Medical Insurance upon arrival. After 6 months of continuous residence, you transition to National Health Insurance (NHI). To claim: bring your diagnosis certificate and receipt to OIR. → OIR Insurance Info
Do I need to speak Chinese?
No. All courses, assignments, and thesis are conducted entirely in English. Administrative procedures (ARC, insurance, work permits) are handled in English by the Office of International Relations (OIR). Optional Chinese courses are available at the Chinese Language Center.
What are living costs in Taichung?
Monthly living costs are approximately NT$12,000–18,000 (~USD 370–550), covering accommodation, food, and transport. On-campus dormitories are available (limited spots); off-campus rental in the Xitun area runs ~NT$30,000–48,000/semester. Significantly lower than Singapore or Hong Kong. → Full cost breakdown
Can I work or intern while studying?
Yes — up to 20 hrs/week during semester (no limit during breaks). Both part-time work and internships require a work permit; apply online at ezwp.wda.gov.tw with your student ID, passport, ARC, and enrollment certificate. Working without a permit carries fines of NT$30,000–150,000 and forced departure. → OIR Work Permit Guide
Can I stay in Taiwan to work after graduation?
Yes. After receiving your diploma, you may extend your ARC for up to 1 year for job-seeking. Full-time employment requires your employer to apply via the Point-Based System. A separate MOE post-graduation internship program is also available. → OIR Post-Grad Work Guide

GMBA graduates pursue roles in business management, marketing, finance, and operations across Taiwan's technology and AI-related industries. Taiwan's semiconductor and AI ecosystem generates strong demand for bilingual professionals, and Taiwan's Ministry of Labor offers a streamlined work permit process for international graduates from accredited programs.
